MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT
We are about to embark on our busiest month of the entire season for non-patrolling activities from dinners to training courses to Come and Try Days. Being part of our Club can be as small or as large a part of your life as you would like. There is a lot in this update and you may have started seeing that they follow a similar pattern. As the season progresses we will continue to build up the sections with relevant information so that there is a single place to go for information.
This coming Saturday night we will be celebrating the Club's delayed 20th Birthday celebration with Bonnie Hancock and our special guests, including a special training session for the youth. We need your help to sell and buy the Mega Raffle tickets we have for this event! Get your tickets! It will be drawn on the 5 August @ 9pm. If we can sell the tickets in this raffle, we will need to do a lot less fundraising this year. Please share the message with family and friends as the prizes are nothing short of awesome!
We are looking for 1 person with an RSA to help on Saturday night at the dinner. If you are available please let us know. Our usual volunteers are all attending so we really need some help!
Membership renewals are now open. Please start the process of renewing your membership so that we can commence detailed planning for the season. Our Patrolling members with 25 + hours (from the previous season) will continue to receive "free" membership this year in recognition for their hard work and commitment to keeping the Public safe. Our membership fees for Junior Activities remains the same as last year. Go to: https://members.sls.com.au/ You can use your Fair Play Vouchers at Eimeo.
Last weekend some of the young females of our Club had the pleasure of attending a special Clinic on Magnetic Island with 3 champion Iron women. Our girls did a fabulous job representing our Club and asking thought provoking and hard hitting questions. Being from a regional area we often have to travel for events and the beauty of Surf Life Saving is that we get to make many great friends along the way. The girls got to experience coaching sessions with Australia's finest athletes as well as hanging out with other females in the Arcadian SLSC club house and staying in their dorms. We are very grateful for this opportunity.
Get your entries in for the Eimeo Photo Calendar Competition 2024 - competition closes on the weekend. We would love to see how photos of our beach and the kids playing around! If you have any photos of Eimeo and it's surrounds we would love to see your entries.
The Secondary School Surf League is on this year at we would love to see as many schools in Mackay
See you around the Club

Where - Sarina Beach Surf Club
Who - YOU & your friends.
All High School students welcome! Nominations extended! Must register by FRIDAY, AUGUST 4th 2023.
Contact your PE Department for more information or SLSQ on (07) 47662211
This program has been created to introduce students to surf lifesaving skills and competition, whether they are a lifesaver or not. The format of the league will certainly challenge students and will enable students to test their abilities against themselves, the environment and students from other schools across our region. The Secondary School Surf League will encompass activities relating to surf swimming, beach sprints and flags, board paddling and rescue disciplines.
NIPPERS & ALBATROSS NIPPERS
The first 2 nippers sessions will be the 26/08 at 3-5pm at the Pioneer Pool and 27/08 10-12 at the Pioneer Pool. They will be run like normal nippers days so please rock up 20 mins prior to register and get ready. We are using the pool this year to start the season off so that we can get the proficiencies completed as well as practice some pool based skills and events. No stinger suit required here!
Both of these days will be for Albatross Nippers and Nippers.
Our plan is to rotate with your age groups to complete your proficiency, get to know your Age Manager and fellow Nippers, board practice for appropriate ages and lots of other fun activities.
You are welcome to bring a friend or 10! This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in Nippers to get involved in the fun.
You are welcome to come to 1 or both days as they will be run as Nippers Sessions.
We have also created a FAQ for the season.
Questions can be sent to me at - nippers@eimeoslsc.com.au

TRAINING COURSES
PATROL CAPTAINS COURSE - SILVER MEDALLION 19/ 20 August
There is a Patrol Captain Course on the 19/20 August at Mackay SLSC. This will be the only Patrol Captains Course this season so if you are interested, please let us know training@eimeoslsc.com.au
BRONZE AND SURF RESCUE CERTIFICATE COURES
